It's so hard to believe that fall officially was right around the corner
after the weekend weather we enjoyed for the MTRA Fall Trail Ride. Over
sixty riders met at Marvin & Patsy Breitkreitzke's farm south of Renville,
MN, September 19-21. We went out for an evening ride on Friday which ended
with a spectacular lightning show in the sky. We felt a few rain drops and
heard a lot of rumbling.
Saturday morning started out overcast and humid but the skies cleared
and the temperature must have reached into the 80's. Marvin led us on
trails thru out the Minnesota River Valley, finding some of them a bit
challenging for both riders and horses. Many comments were heard that they
couldn't believe they were in Minnesota with the terrain and scenery they
enjoyed.
Saturday evening everyone enjoyed the potluck supper and was
entertained by the raffle and silent auction. It was hard to see the
weekend end after the Sunday morning ride. Everything was perfect, the
weather, the trails, and the company.
Now fall begins and some of the best riding weather is enjoyed. We find
fewer bugs, still watch out for those nasty bees, and beautiful sights of
Mother Nature's changes can be enjoyed.
Get out and enjoy the trails!!!!
